This Privacy Policy explains how the Capsight mobile app ("the App", "we") handles information when you use it. Capsight is an informational app about dietary supplements (vitamins, minerals, etc.). It does not require creating an account and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
You create the following data inside the App and it stays in the phone's local storage. We do not receive or sync it:
| Data | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Age range (e.g. 19–50, 51+) and sex — both optional | Adjusting the nutrient reference values (DRI / upper limit) shown in "My Stack" |
| Your stack: the products/supplements you add and daily servings | Calculating per-nutrient totals, detecting duplicates, and the stack score |
| Dose reminders and times | Sending you local notifications at the time you set |
| Intake / consistency history | Showing your adherence over time |
| Recently viewed items | Quick access within the App |
You can delete this data at any time by removing the items inside the App or by uninstalling it. Although some of this information may be considered health-related, it never leaves your device.
| Permission | Use |
|---|---|
| Camera | Scan product barcodes, processed on the device (ML Kit). No images are stored or uploaded. |
| Notifications | Show the dose reminders you configure. |
| Exact alarms | Fire the reminder at the exact time you set. |
| Receive "boot completed" | Re-schedule your reminders after the phone restarts. |
| Internet / network state | Download the catalog and recall data; load advertising and statistics. |
We use Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the App is used (for example, how often it is opened, a product is scanned, or the stack is viewed).
What we record: usage events that contain only public catalog identifiers (e.g. the ID of an ingredient or product) and aggregate numeric values (e.g. the stack score). We never send:
Some events include the public catalog ID of the product involved: when you view a product, add it to your stack or remove it, or set a reminder for it. These events are not linked to your name or email.
Firebase also automatically collects standard technical and usage data, such as device model, operating-system version, approximate country/region, and installation or device identifiers (including, depending on settings, the advertising identifier).
The App shows ads (banner, interstitial and rewarded) through Google AdMob. To serve ads, measure impressions and cap their frequency, AdMob and its providers may access your device's advertising identifier and technical data (device type, operating system, IP address — used, among other things, for country-level geolocation — and ad interaction).
Shared with Google for advertising: the advertising identifier (Advertising ID) and your interactions with ads are shared with Google so it can serve, measure and personalize ads and prevent fraud. Google also uses your approximate location (country level, derived from your IP address) to serve ads. We do not share your stack, profile or any other data you enter.
Consent: in regions where it is required (e.g. the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the App shows a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before loading ads. Depending on your choice, ads will be personalized or non-personalized. If no valid consent decision can be obtained, the App does not request or show any ads.
Remove ads: if you buy "Remove ads", the App stops requesting ads entirely: it no longer shows the consent form or sends the advertising data described in this section.
You can limit personalized advertising by resetting or deleting the advertising identifier in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
The App queries Firebase Remote Config to enable or adjust features without shipping a new version. That query sends an App installation identifier and basic technical data; it does not send data you have entered.
The App may invite you to rate it through the native Google Play dialog. That process is handled by Google Play; we do not receive your rating associated with you.
Purchases (Google Play Billing): the optional one-time "Remove ads" purchase is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. The App only stores on your device whether the purchase is active, and asks Google Play to confirm it (for example after you reinstall the App); Google keeps the purchase history associated with your Google account.
The ingredient/product catalog and the recall notices are downloaded from a content delivery network (Cloudflare). As with any web request, the provider may temporarily log technical data such as the IP address for the security and operation of the service. We do not send any data from your profile or your stack in those requests. The full catalog (several tens of megabytes) downloads automatically after you install the App and is refreshed about once a week, over Wi-Fi or mobile data; you can see its status in Settings.
We do not sell your data. The data described in sections 4–7 is processed by Google (Firebase, AdMob, Google Play) as part of providing those services. For advertising, the Advertising ID, ad interactions and approximate location are shared with Google, which also uses them for its own advertising purposes under its own policies (section 5). There is no other recipient.
Google may process data on servers located outside your country, including the United States, under the safeguards set out in its own policies.
Capsight is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR in the EU, LGPD, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data and to object to certain processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will publish the current version at this same address and update the "Last updated" date.
